Online Dating. Can YOU make it work?

Online dating is a widely debated topic, and is used in ways ranging from anonymous sex to married life (even a HAPPY one). You may ask yourself, can I make this work for me? Can this help make me happier? In my opinion, yes.

You can find someone special through online dating sites, because after all if your going into it with the intentions of finding a quality person to date, then you will always remain the one in control of the outcome.

Over the past decade, online dating has become a very popular and widely used way of meeting new people. Just like any other networking site though, it does comes with more than its fair share of creepy people and falsified accounts/profiles, but if your smart in your use of online recreational dating, then the world is at your fingertips and a healthy long lasting relationship can in fact be achieved.

Dating Online Dating. Can YOU make it work?

Online dating has become one of the most successful business ventures, according to Wisegeek.com. There are so many different dating sites on the World Wide Web that even large Internet providers such as Yahoo! are providing their own dating sites for their users. Dating sites such as Match.com and eHarmony.com are among the most popular of the few hundreds of dating sites for people to choose from. One important thing to always remember, is that You are the boss! Think of it this way; you have thousands of potential men/women looking for exactly what you are, but now the trick is, is to be able to filter through them to find a more specific type of person your looking to meet. Blonde hair, exotic look, dark eyes, nice body, and so on. I dont think it can get much easier than that! Compare this with having to look slick, slapping on some of that Armani cologne, and having all those funny pick-up lines handy for when you first approach that sexy blond at the other end of the bar.

Furthermore, you get to cut through all the first impression yellow caution tape and move straight to the questions that matter. What do you look for in men/women? What kind of relationship are you looking for: friendship, casual, sexual, romantic? These are all legitimate questions that can be a forecast of warnings on the first couple of dates, depending on how open this new person in your life is. Another good thing to remember when beginning a new online dating profile, is whether or not it is a paid for site or not. Free sites tend to attract a larger percentage of ‘weirdos’ and people who aren’t as serious about having a reputable, long-lasting, committed relationship. Your chances of finding exactly what your looking for online, are far more increased if you know every profile on the site you choose is being paid for. It not only increases the repuataion of the site, but provides better grounds for new comers to transistion.

No matter what bests floats your boat, and what your opinion may be on online dating, I believe that it is a venture definitely worth exploring. I personally have used and know others who do as well with fantastic results that could be exactly what you’ve been looking for your entire life. After all, the Internet will always remain a place of connection to anything and everything ones heart desires. Even if it means taking that difficult first step to at least give it a shot. What do you have to lose?
